Our Leadership
Sara Peterson,
Owner | General Manager
Sara Peterson brings a strong foundation in business leadership and financial management to Precision Underground. After earning her degree in Business Administration from North Dakota State University, she spent 17 years at Gate City Bank in roles ranging from Teller to Loan Officer to Customer Relationship Supervisor and Compliance.
In 2015, Sara transitioned full-time into Precision Underground, stepping into the role of General Manager and guiding the company through significant growth. Her background in finance, operations, and compliance has been instrumental in building the strong internal systems and stability that support the company today.
Sara leads with a focus on accountability, community involvement, and long-term relationships. Under her leadership, Precision Underground continues to grow while staying rooted in the values it was built on — integrity, quality, and commitment to the communities it serves.
Tyler Blauert,
Owner | Operations Leader
Tyler Blauert’s journey with Precision Underground began in 2013 as a Laborer. With previous underground telecommunications experience, he quickly proved himself in the field and advanced to Foreman in 2014 and Project Manager in Dickinson by 2015.
Tyler’s hands-on leadership style and deep operational knowledge have played a key role in the company’s expansion across North Dakota. In 2019, he became a co-owner, reflecting both his dedication to the company and the trust he earned from leadership.
Today, Tyler oversees field operations with a strong emphasis on production efficiency, safety, and delivering high-quality results for clients. His background in the field ensures that every project is led with practical experience and a clear understanding of what it takes to execute successfully.
Carly LaBere,
Office Manager
Carly LaBere joined Precision Underground in 2013 and has been an integral part of the company’s growth ever since. As Office Manager, she plays a key role in supporting daily operations and works closely alongside ownership to keep projects, finances, and internal systems running smoothly.
Wearing many hats, Carly oversees accounting, payroll, human resources, administrative operations, and organizational processes across multiple locations. Her attention to detail and proactive approach help ensure both field and office teams are aligned and supported.
Beyond operations, Carly is deeply invested in strengthening company culture and professional development. She takes pride in helping the company grow while maintaining the strong family-driven values that define Precision Underground.
Project Managers
Aaron Amstadt
Regional Project Manager
Aaron Amstadt joined Precision Underground in 2016, starting as a laborer and quickly advancing through the ranks due to his strong work ethic and natural leadership ability. His hands-on field experience, combined with his drive to take initiative, positioned him for a rapid transition into management.
Today, Aaron serves as Regional Project Manager for Central North Dakota, overseeing water infrastructure projects throughout the Bismarck area and surrounding rural communities. Known for his meticulous planning and proactive approach, he ensures projects are executed efficiently, safely, and on schedule.
Prior to joining Precision Underground, Aaron worked in the oil field, bringing valuable industry experience and a results-driven mindset to the team. His dedication, reliability, and leadership in the field have made him an invaluable asset to the company’s continued growth and success.
Scott Thompson
Regional Project Manager
Scott Thompson joined Precision Underground in 2015, bringing with him years of underground infrastructure experience and a deep understanding of field operations. Since then, he has served as Regional Project Manager for Western North Dakota, leading projects across some of the region’s most demanding terrain and environments.
Scott is known for his thoughtful planning and ability to anticipate challenges before they arise. He carefully evaluates each jobsite, identifying potential obstacles early to keep projects running smoothly and efficiently.
Respected by both field crews and leadership, Scott is often sought out for his steady guidance and patient, practical approach. His experience, reliability, and strong rapport with his team make him a key leader in Precision Underground’s continued success.
Field Leaders
Marcus Kessell
Field Supervisor
Marcus Kessell joined Precision Underground in 2015 and has been a key leader in the field ever since. He has worked on some of the company’s largest and most demanding projects, bringing valuable hands-on insight and experience to every jobsite.
Marcus is known for his ability to adapt when conditions change. He thinks through challenges in real time, adjusts plans accordingly, and keeps crews focused and productive. His calm leadership style helps maintain efficiency even in complex or fast-moving environments.
In addition to leading crews in the field, Marcus has contributed to strengthening Precision Underground’s safety efforts, reinforcing the company’s commitment to safe, responsible operations. His experience and leadership make him an essential part of the team’s success.
Julian Gouveia
Field Supervisor
Julian Gouveia joined Precision Underground in 2018 and serves as a Field Supervisor primarily in Western North Dakota. He leads projects for electric cooperatives and oil and gas companies, working in some of the most demanding environments in the region.
Julian has extensive experience operating large-scale equipment, including the Vermeer 100×140 directional drill. His technical skill and confidence in the field give leadership and clients peace of mind that the job will be completed safely and efficiently.
Known for his quick wit and team-first attitude, Julian brings both professionalism and personality to every crew. He is always willing to step in where needed and consistently delivers results on even the most challenging projects.
Dion Crane
Field Supervisor
Since joining Precision Underground in 2023, Dion Crane has supported field operations across multiple project types, including fiber infrastructure. With years of previous experience in underground work, he brings practical knowledge and flexibility to each jobsite.
Dion is willing to go where the company needs him and contributes to maintaining steady progress in the field. His experience and adaptability make him a valuable part of the team.
Nathan Glucky
Field Supervisor
Nathan Glucky joined Precision Underground in 2025 as an equipment operator and quickly advanced into a Field Supervisor role. His strong work ethic and ability to execute efficiently in the field made him a natural fit for leadership.
Nathan has played a key role in supporting the company’s fiber projects, consistently delivering work that is timely, safe, and high quality. Known for his upbeat attitude and steady presence on the jobsite, he helps keep crews motivated and projects moving forward.
