Who We Are

Grounded in Quality, Safety, and Accountability

Our Story

Precision Underground was founded in 2008 by Sara Peterson and Chris Ryckman, built on the belief that quality work done right the first time is the only way to work. Both Sara and Chris came from hardworking farming backgrounds where reliability, follow-through, and respect was expected, not optional.

Chris brought years of experience from the pipeline industry, while Sara’s background in banking and client relations shapes how the company communicates and operates.

Together, they focused on doing work efficiently, safely, and in a way that made projects easier for the people on the other side of the handshake. That approach quickly earned Precision Underground a reputation for being reliable and easy to work with.

Today, Sara continues to lead Precision Underground as General Manager, carrying forward the standards the company was built on. Chris has since retired, and Tyler Blauert stepped into the co-owner role. He’s been with Precision since 2013, starting out as a foreman.

Sara and Tyler share a belief in doing the hard right over the easy wrong, from the first phone call to the final day on site.
